Newcastle United should plot a summer move for Jackson Martinez, after his release from Guangzhou Evergrande.
The Colombian failed to make much of an impact in China, and was excluded from their squad for the upcoming campaign.

Martinez is now free to seek employment elsewhere, and Newcastle should swoop.
The Magpies’ budget for the summer transfer window is still unclear, but while Mike Ashley is still in charge, it is unlikely to be particularly lavish.
That means that Newcastle’s options could be limited, and Martinez is surely one of the best value for money transfers out there.

Granted, his move to China does not breed much confidence, but his goalscoring record prior to that switch was highly encouraging.
Martinez scored prolifically for Porto, hitting 94 goals in 143 appearances.
And if Newcastle could encourage the rapid striker to St. James’ Park, he would surely be an upgrade on their current options up-front.
