Newcastle United have been linked with Arsenal defender Calum Chambers for much of the summer so far.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace have made a £16 million offer for Calum Chambers – and Newcastle United should respond to the Eagles’ bid for the Arsenal defender.
Newcastle are yet to make a bid for the England international, but they now need to act fast if they are to get a deal over the line.

Palace have jumped to the head of the queue for Chambers’ signature, but Newcastle should not let them have a clear run to snap up the 22-year-old.
Newcastle may have already brought in Florian Lejeune to strengthen their defence this summer, but they still need more additions to their backline.
And Chambers’ ability to play right across defence, should be seen as a major positive.
Chambers had a very solid season at Middlesbrough last term, and at 22 he still has the potential to grow into an excellent player.
And Newcastle should at least rival Palace, to see whether a deal could be done for the young talent.
