Newcastle United have been linked with Derby County’s Will Hughes for a number of years.

According to a report in the Telegraph, Derby County have put Will Hughes up for sale this summer.
Derby are looking to raise funds for their planned additions, and Hughes has been deemed expendable by Gary Rowett.
Hughes is one of the most valuable players in the Rams’ squad, but Derby have previously fought hard to keep hold of the central midfielder.

However, Derby now feel that the time is right to cash in on Hughes.
And Newcastle United should revive their long-term interest in the England youth international.
Newcastle have been linked with a move for Hughes for a number of years (Derby Telegraph), but have previously found it difficult to get a deal over the line.

The Magpies could find it much easier to secure a transfer this summer, though, and it is a deal which could suit all parties.
Newcastle are looking to add more creativity to their midfield, and Hughes would certainly offer them that.
And if Derby are now willing to sell the talented 22-year-old, then Rafael Benitez should make sure his side are the front of the queue for his signature.
