Newcastle United are said to be keen on West Bromwich Albion striker Jay Rodriguez this summer.

Newcastle are on the lookout for a new forward this summer, but they have been more heavily linked with Salomon Rondon at West Brom than Rodriguez.
However, with the latter available for £18 million, they may be better off diverting their attention.
Rodriguez was interesting Newcastle back in 2017, as reported by the Daily Mail, and Rafael Benitez should still want the striker.
Rodriguez has proven his fitness over the past campaign with West Brom, and he would increase the productiveness of Newcastle’s strike force.

Ayoze Perez was the Magpies’ top scorer last campaign, but even he only hit seven goals.
Rodriguez managed that same tally in a West Brom side, where he was starved of service and often played out wide.
And if West Brom are open to selling the one-time England international, then Newcastle should be at the front of the queue for his signature this summer.
