Newcastle United allow Fraser Forster to leave back in 2012.

With Newcastle United searching for a new goalkeeper, Rafael Benitez should be considering bringing back Fraser Forster to St. James’ Park.
Newcastle are determined to snap up a new stopper in the coming week, as Benitez seeks and upgrade on both Rob Elliot and Karl Darlow.
Newcastle have been linked with a host of names, but it may well be worth trying for Forster.

The England international stopper has fallen out of favour at Southampton this season, with Alex McCarthy taking his place in goal recently.
Forster’s confidence appears to have taken a dent at Southampton, but he has previously proven to be a superb goalkeeper at Premier League level.

Forster forced his way into the England set up a few years back, and although his form has been concerning this season, a return to Newcastle could be perfect to help him return to his best.
Newcastle allowed Forster to leave in 2012, before he had made a senior appearance.
That decision has proved to be an error since, but Newcastle now have a chance to right that wrong, by bringing Forster back to St. James’ Park and making him their number one for the rest of the campaign.
