Newcastle United should give Iago Aspas a second chance to impress in England.

Spain's forward Iago Aspas celebrates after scoring a goal during a friendly football match between Spain and Argentina at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on March 27, 2018.

Newcastle United should give Iago Aspas another chance in England, after his goalscoring heroics this season.

Aspas has only been outscored by Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo in La Liga this term.

And if Newcastle are looking for a new front man, the Celta Vigo star could be the man to fill that void.

Aspas’ first stint in English football was far from impressive – as he flopped badly at Liverpool.

But the Spaniard has returned to his homeland and proven his class in recent seasons.

Aspas has netted 20 goals for Celta this term, to completely restore his reputation.

Newcastle now should offer Aspas the chance to show that Liverpool were wrong to let him go and he can cope in the Premier League.

Newcastle need a new goalscorer, and there are very few strikers across Europe have been as prolific as Aspas this term.

Of course, signing Aspas would be a costly venture, but Mike Ashley may be more willing to inject cash into Newcastle now their Premier League status looks secure.

And signing Aspas would be a real statement of intent ahead of the new campaign for the Magpies.
