Reiss Nelson is a highly rated young attacking midfielder. Should Newcastle United make a loan move for him?

On Monday night, Arsenal’s U-23 side defeated Derby County 3-2. A lot of football fans tuned into the match to keep an eye on Jack Wilshere, who was making a comeback for the Gunners.

However, Wilshere was overshadowed by Reiss Nelson, who scored twice in the game. His second goal, a brilliant solo effort, has left Arsenal fans going crazy on the internet.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder could be a major star in the making if pre-season is anything to go by.

He was one of the star performers for the Gunners during the pre-season tour of Australia, and came off the bench against Chelsea in the Community Shield at Wembley.

He is considered one of the most promising youngsters in the club’s academy, and scored seven goals last season for the youth team.

Known for his wonderful technical ability, array of skills and creative vision, Nelson could play a major role for the Gunners in the years to come.

Arsenal have an abundance of attacking midfielders on their ranks and it won’t be easy for the youngster to get into the senior team at the moment.

A loan move to any Premier League club could be beneficial. Newcastle United should at least try to sign him on loan this season.

It will be foolish to think that he would leave a major impact straightaway, but the youngster is capable of adding substantial contribution.

Newcastle need creativity and flair in the middle of the park, and Nelson could offer that. He could be a very good addition to the side, especially on a loan move.

He is already playing at a high level for the academy side, and playing in the Premier League will do a world of good to his confidence.
