Newcastle United should make late Izzy Brown move – before Brighton beat them to it

Newcastle United’s promotion rivals are looking to loan the Chelsea winger.

Newcastle United are not looking to loan any central midfield players – but could do elsewhere – despite wanting to strengthen in that particular department, The Chronicle reports.

Rafa Benitez’s side had been linked with a move for Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek, with a temporary move seeming like the most probable outcome.

But should that prove not to be the case, Newcastle would still have one slot open for a Blues loanee – and could do worse than to fill it with winger Izzy Brown.

Brown excelled in last season’s Championship, first with Rotherham United and latterly at Huddersfield Town, but can no longer return to Yorkshire on loan after the Terriers re-signed his Chelsea colleague Kasey Palmer on a temporary basis.

And having recently signed a new deal at Stamford Bridge, it seems a permanent move is off the cards too – although Brighton appear to be closing in on a deal to lend him for the coming campaign.

A move to Newcastle, though, would surely appeal to Brown, and the Magpies, who have had little luck securing new recruits in his position, could live to regret it if they don’t act fast.

Should Newcastle United consider a late move for Chelsea’s Izzy Brown before Brighton get there?
