Who will Newcastle United sign before the summer transfer window slams shut next month?

There’s not long left until the new Premier League season kicks off, with Newcastle United hoping to put a quite dramatic summer behind them by securing all three points on the opening day of the season – and then going on to have a strong campaign.
In order for them to do that, Steve Bruce’s side will need to add more players to their thin squad, which is no doubt lacking quality, at this moment in time.
Frank Lampard, who was appointed Chelsea manager this summer, has seemingly decided that Danny Drinkwater will not be part of his plans next season, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Since his £35 million switch from Leicester City to Stamford Bridge, Drinkwater has struggled for game time, and he hardly featured for then-manager Maurizio Sarri last season.
Saying that, he still has an abundance of experience and quality under his belt and he would be a great addition for a team outside of the Premier League’s top ten.

Newcastle would be the ideal place for him as he would no doubt be better than many of the players Bruce currently has at his disposal.
Drinkwater is accomplished in possession and is a great passer of the ball, especially during counter-attacks, something Newcastle will be relying on this season to get their goals.
Plus, he understands what it takes to play under pressure having played for Chelsea and Leicester City, where he won the Premier League title.
Added with that, the players around Drinkwater would improve, including someone like new signing Joelinton, who would thrive upon Drinkwater’s ball over the top.
Depending on what type of fee Chelsea want for the player, someone like Drinkwater should be considered by the club because he would add much-needed quality to the middle of the park.
