Newcastle United were strongly linked with a move for Nicolai Jorgensen in January.

Nicolai Jorgensen may have hinted to Bold.DK that a move to the Premier League could still appeal to him but Newcastle United should look elsewhere.

The Danish target-man was heavily linked to Newcastle in the January transfer window, but no deal was completed.

Newcastle could not agree a price with Feyenoord, as reported by Sky Sports, after having a £15 million bid rejected, and the striker stayed with the Dutch side.

With Rafael Benitez’s side managing to successfully avoid relegation, there have been suggestions that Newcastle could return for the 27-year-old – but the Magpies should look elsewhere.

Jorgensen may have been one of the more appealing available options in January, but with a whole summer to buy players, Newcastle can now do better.

Jorgensen has scored just three goals in 13 appearances throughout 2018 so far, and he just doesn’t look like the man to fire Newcastle to the next level.

And while Benitez may have been keen on Jorgensen in January, the striker may just have blown his chance of moving to St. James’ Park, due to his poor goalscoring form since those links.
