If Tottenham Hotspur make Mousa Dembele available then Newcastle United should swoop

The Belgian powerhouse’s contract is entering into its final 18 months and it remains to be seen if he is offered a new one, amid rumours of the Kondogbia interest.
Dembele, however, is a brilliant midfielder and if he is available then Newcastle United should make sure that they are involved in the race.

Newcastle have plenty of midfield options but the 30-year-old is a huge upgrade on the likes of Mo Diame and Jonjo Shelvey and is one of the best ball carriers in the Premier League.
Better yet, Magpies boss Rafael Benitez might be a fan.

The Mirror reported back in 2013 that Benitez – then at Napoli – tried to sign him after Dembele endured a difficult first 18 months at White Hart Lane following a £15 million move from Fulham.
But he developed into an outstanding player under Mauricio Pochettino and the Spanish manager should absolutely enquire about him a second time if the signs are that Kondogbia will replace him.
