Newcastle United should look into signing Everton’s Morgan Schneiderlin.

Everton’s reported interest in Steven N’Zonzi spells bad news for Morgan Schneiderlin.
The France midfielder only joined the Toffees last January in a £24 million deal from Manchester United but it has been a horrendous 2017-18 campaign for him so far and links to N’Zonzi are no surprise.
But if Sam Allardyce does signal that he is available then Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez might well be alerted.

According to The Mirror, Benitez tried to sign the then-Southampton midfielder for Napoli in 2014 and Newcastle could do a lot worse if they were to get him in January.
Mo Diame reminded the Magpies faithful of his shortcomings with another brutal showing in Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Chelsea and central midfield is surely an area that the Spanish manager needs to address.

As noted, it hasn’t been a good season for the 28-year-old on Merseyside, but it would do his confidence the world of good if he knew that Benitez wanted him a second time. It would indicate that the former Napoli boss is indeed a big fan and knowing that might well enable Schneiderlin to find his best form.
He moved for £24 million 11 months ago but his struggles at Goodison Park mean that he is worth significantly less than that now and Newcastle should ask the question.
