Newcastle United are said to have £300 million to spend in the January transfer window.

Newcastle have been shopping on a budget in recent years, with Mike Ashley seemingly loathed to invest masses of funds.
But if Staveley does complete her takeover bid, a whole new market of players will be accessible to Newcastle.

The Magpies have had to search for value in recent transfer windows, with bargain buys the main objective.
But with £300 million available to spend, a whole new range of players will become accessible for Benitez’s side.
And Newcastle should consider making a move for Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez in January.
Mahrez appeared to be edging towards a move in the summer, but no deal went through and he has remained at the King Power Stadium.

Mahrez has not been able to hit top form for Leicester this season though, and BBC Sport now suggest that the Foxes’ squad have become disillusioned with life at the Midlands club, due to Craig Shakespeare’s recent departure.
Mahrez may now be keen to move on, and Newcastle should attempt to sell their exciting project to the Algerian.
The Magpies appear to have promising times ahead, and if they could bring in Mahrez, then it would really announce a new era at St. James’ Park in style.
