With Newcastle United fans tapping their feet in frustration as they wait for their seemingly inevitable promotion from the Championship to take place, events around the country could change their transfer plans.
Following news that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp won’t be in the market to sign Joe Hart from Manchester City, as reports BBC Sport, the Magpies should use this opportunity to strike now and sign the England international.
While current number one Karl Darlow is a very good goalkeeper who’s enjoyed an excellent season, Hart resembles a massive step up in class and would represent a huge statement of intent for Rafael Benitez’s side.
To have a goalkeeper of Hart’s quality on Tyneside would be colossal, and would also appease the vast majority of Newcastle fans who expect the Magpies to push for a top eight finish on their return to the Premier League.

It would also work in Hart’s favour to be at St James’ Park, as while he’s doing his England chances no harm by plying his trade in Serie A with Torino at present, the chance to move back to an arguably better league can only boost those chances.
With the new TV deal coming into play as well, the rumoured £20m fee for Hart’s services could prove to be a snip, so when Newcastle eventually do confirm promotion, the 30-year-old should be transfer target number one.
