Newcastle United are interested in signing Harry Wilson from Premier League rivals Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to The Northern Echo.

It has been reported that Newcastle manager Steve Bruce wants to bring Wilson to St. James’ Park on loan from the Reds.

The report has claimed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is keen to see how the 23-year-old winger does in pre-season before making a decision on his future.

Klopp raved about Wilson in December 2019, telling The Guardian that “his shooting is world-class”.

Stats

Wilson has been on the books of Liverpool since 2005 and is a very promising young winger.

However, the Wales international has failed to establish himself in the Reds’ first team, and had been out on loan at Crewe Alexandra, Hull City, Derby County and Bournemouth in recent years.

The 23-year-old spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Bournemouth, scoring seven goals in 31 Premier League games, according to WhoScored, as the Cherries got relegated to the Championship.

Good signing for Newcastle United?

Wilson is a very good winger who did well during his loan spell at Bournemouth, and he would make Newcastle a better team and add more creativity to the side.
