According to TuttoJuve, Newcastle United are interested in signing Aaron Ramsey from Juventus in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported by the Italian news outlet that Juventus will want €25 million (£22.07 million) as transfer fee for Ramsey.

The 29-year-old midfielder moved to the Bianconeri only last summer on a free transfer after leaving Arsenal.

Given the Wales international’s exploits in the Premier League, there is no surprise that Newcastle reportedly wanted him.

What will encourage the St. James’ Park faithful is that their former manager Rafael Benitez – who has been linked with a move back to the Magpies – rates Ramsey highly.

According to Sky Sports, the prospective new owners of Newcastle – Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) – will go for Benitez if they fail to bring their first-choice managerial candidate Mauricio Pochettino.

The Spaniard disclosed in April 2019 that he wanted to sign Ramsey for Liverpool before the midfielder moved to Arsenal.

Benitez told The Shields Gazette on April 12, 2019: “Everyone has players you are interested in but you cannot always land them, or another club is quicker than you. At Liverpool we had Ramsey, and he went to Arsenal.”

If Benitez returns to Newcastle, then a move for the Welshman from the Magpies should not be written off.
