Newcastle United and Leicester City are reportedly considering Leonardo Jardim.

Manager Leonardo Jardim of AS Monaco attends a newsconference on October 2, 2018 in Dortmund, Germany. Monaco will play a UEFA Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund on October 3.

According to Le 10 Sport, Newcastle United and Leicester City are interested in securing the services of former AS Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim.

It has been reported that Newcastle are keeping tabs on Jardim should Rafael Benitez part company as the Magpies’ manager.

The Premier League club are claimed to be considering the 44-year-old Portuguese should Benitez leave St. James’ Park.

Strong reputation

Jardim has a strong reputation in European football, and has managed big clubs such as Olympiacos, Sporting Lisbon and Monaco.

The Portuguese boss won the league title with Olympiacos in Greece in 2013 and guided Monaco to the League 1 title in 2016-17.

Newcastle United Manager Rafael Benitez looks on during the Newcastle United Training Session at The Newcastle United Training Centre on October 24, 2018, in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

Keeping Rafael Benitez

Newcastle, though, should do their best to keep hold of Benitez, who is one of the best managers in world football.

The current Newcastle team has been assembled by the former Real Madrid manager, who will know the current group of players better than any other manager.

The Magpies are struggling in the Premier League at the moment and are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
