Newcastle United have been linked with Norwich City’s Jacob Murphy in the summer transfer window.

Newcastle United have made an increased offer for Norwich City winger Jacob Murphy, according to The Chronicle.

It has been reported that Newcastle have increased their offer to £10 million in order to sign Murphy from Norwich in the summer transfer window.

According to the report, the Premier League club have also offered “a series of instalments depending on first team appearances and other milestones”.

Would Norwich City accept the new offer?

According to The Coventry Telegraph, Newcastle’s initial offer for Murphy was £8m; Norwich are claimed to want as much as £16m.

Although the Magpies have (reportedly) increased their bid by £2m and have added other incentives, it is hard to see the Canaries accept it.

After all, there is no need for Norwich to sell the 22-year-old winger, as he could play an important role for them in their quest to win promotion from the Championship to the Premier League at the end of next season.

Murphy scored nine goals and provided six assists in 37 Championship appearances for Norwich last season.

Newcastle will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.
