Newcastle United are competing with West Ham United and Fulham for Brentford star Said Benrahma, according to The Daily Star.

It has been reported that Benrahma – who can play as a forward or as a winger – is valued at £20 million by his club Brentford, who reached the Championship playoff final last season.

Fulham are in pursuit of the 25-year-old, and so are West Ham and Newcastle, according to the report.

Said Benrahma Stats

Benrahma scored 17 goals and provided four assists in the Championship for Brentford last season, according to WhoScored.

Back in the 2018-19 campaign, the Algeria international scored 10 goals and provided 14 assists in the league, according to WhoScored.

Stepping up

Benrahma is a very good player who scores goals and creates chances, and he would be a good signing for Newcastle.

The attacker – described by his Brentford teammate Pontus Jansson as “unbelievable” in Football.London in August 2020 – is ready to take the next step in his career and move to a club in the Premier League after his success in the second tier of English football.

Newcastle do have a good attacking unit, but another player for that department would not be a bad idea, although it remains to be seen if the Magpies would be open to paying £20 million for Benrahma.
