Newcastle United managed to bring Mark Gillespie back to the club this summer, handing the goalkeeper a shock return to St James’ Park.
The Magpies may yet bring another player back to Tyneside, with left back Jetro Willems seemingly keen on a move.
The Chronicle claim that Willems still wants to join Newcastle on a permanent basis, having missed out on a full-time move last season.
The Dutchman impressed in the first half of last season having joined on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt, but suffered a major knee injury in January.
He isn’t expected to return until January 2021, but allegedly fancies joining Newcastle on a free transfer when his Frankfurt deal ends next summer.
Newcastle did splash the cash to bring in Jamal Lewis from Norwich City at left back, meaning Willems would have to arrive as competition rather than a starter.

Newcastle fans have been reacting on Twitter to the rumours, suggesting that Willems is ‘brilliant’ and had ‘unfinished business’ at the club.
Others would love to see him return, believing he would be a massive plus and should be signed ‘in a heartbeat’.
