Alan Shearer has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to the news that Newcastle United is now officially up for sale.

A statement on Newcastle’s official website earlier today claimed that club owner Mike Ashley is ready to sell the Magpies.

Newcastle legend Shearer has posted the following message on Twitter after hearing the news:

Ashley has been the Newcastle owner for 10 years, but fans have not taken to him at all.
