The talented Newcastle attacker is pleased for the former Portsmouth midfielder.
Yesterday saw Wolverhampton Wanderers get into the transfer market for next season early. Kenny Jackett has dipped into the lower leagues in order to snap up midfielder Jed Wallace from Portsmouth.
The player, who can play on the wing or in central midfield, has been the shining light at Pompey for several seasons. Last term he scored 17 goals and was named the club’s Player of the Season. He also made it into the League Two PFA Team of the Year – so there is no doubting his talent. Wolves seem to have snapped up a gem.
One man who believes just that is Newcastle United youngster Adam Campbell. He was an international team-mate of of Wallace’s for the England under-19 side back in 2013 and he said of the move on Twitter:
Campbell himself has an interesting summer ahead of him. The 20-year-old has not progressed like Newcastle United would have wanted. He has spent much of this year at Gateshead on loan and the former Wallsend Boys Club lad is out of contract at the end of June.
Who knows? The two might face off in the Championship next season.
