Newcastle United continue to be linked with 20 players a day at the moment, with Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele the latest on the radar.

Rumours emerged on Wednesday as Foot Mercato reported that Newcastle were already in talks to sign Dembele.

The Magpies want to take Dembele on a free transfer at the end of the season, when his Barcelona contract ends.

Newcastle are prepared to pay Dembele around £245,000-a-wek, and Goal claim that he is interested in a move to St James’ Park.

A huge name and a well-known talent, Dembele has lost his way at Barcelona and may feel he can get back on track at Newcastle.

Newcastle fans react to Dembele rumour

Dembele joined Barcelona for £97million in 2017, meaning he is quite the big name.

Newcastle fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the Dembele rumours, with some split opinions right now.

Some believe that Dembele is an ‘incredible talent’ and has the potential to be a world beater.

Others think Dembele could be a fantastic signing, but the fear is over his injuries.

Newcastle fans feel Dembele is ‘made of glass’ and may simply sit on the treatment table.

There were shouts for Jarrod Bowen to be signed instead, though there is also a belief that Dembele could be a statement signing.
