Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion appear to be in a fight for the Championship title.
Peter Beagrie has told Sky Sports that Newcastle United remain the favourites to win the Championship title.
Newcastle have shown signs of vulnerability over recent weeks, and have slipped up in matches there were expected to win comfortably.
Newcastle signing England international is surely inevitable
The Magpies have dropped points at home to Sheffield Wednesday and Queens Park Rangers, and they were also beaten by Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

However, Beagrie feels that Newcastle’s most recent victory over Derby County has got them back on track.
And the Sky Sports pundit insists that Rafael Benitez’s side are still in a strong position to win the Championship this season.
McClaren responds when asked if he was shocked by recent Ashley decision at Newcastle
“I think recent results show how intense the Championship is because both Newcastle and Brighton have been beaten several times this season,” Beagrie said.
“But after Brighton’s last two results, Newcastle have the edge in the title race. Beating Derby was a massive result, especially after dropping points at home to QPR, and Benitez’s side are the favourites for me.”

Newcastle’s main rivals in the race for the title are Brighton, and Chris Hughton’s side have also slipped up lately.
Brighton are one point ahead of Newcastle in the table, but they have failed to win any of their last three matches.
Brighton are next in action against Burton Albion at the weekend, while Newcastle take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
