Newcastle United want Nicolas Pepe and the Arsenal man is thought to be keen on making a move to the Emirates Stadium.
The Magpies have been chasing a left-footed winger of late to complement the right-footed Allan Saint-Maximin.
Moussa Diaby and Jack Harrison are two names who have been linked but have proven a little too expensive so far.
Newcastle could now move for other targets and one name emerging with real prominence is that of Arsenal wide man Pepe.
Newcastle United want Nicolas Pepe
Rumours emerged late in January suggesting that Pepe was on Newcastle’s wish list as an alternative to Diaby and Harrison.
90Min then added that Pepe has been offered to Newcastle with a summer move away from Arsenal seemingly wanted.
Pepe seems to be available if Newcastle do want to sign him – but the finances will make a deal somewhat tricky.
Pepe earns around £140,000-a-week at Arsenal whilst the Gunners coughed up a deal worth up to £72million back in 2019.
Arsenal will have to take a huge loss on Pepe in terms of the fee whilst Newcastle will have to at least match those big wages.

There has been an update today as transfer insider Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that Pepe is interested in the move.
Jones believes that mid-table Premier League clubs are interested in Pepe, but he isn’t keen on dropping to that kind of level.
However, Newcastle are viewed as a team really pushing towards the top six and that’s something that interests Pepe.
“I think that midtable clubs are interested in him, but I don’t think he’s interested in playing at that level of the Premier League, although Newcastle would interest him because they’re going to challenge for the top six,” said Jones.
Newcastle are really looking to kick on thanks to the investment from PIF and that will make them very appealing to potential signings.
Pepe is one player who seems keen on Newcastle now, and it will be fascinating to see if the Magpies chase a deal for the Ivorian wide man over the coming month.
