Newcastle United are eyeing Nicolas Jackson as they challenge Aston Villa and Everton in the race for the Villarreal star.
We’re now two months removed from the summer window and two months away from the January window.
Clubs everywhere will be looking to identify targets ahead of January and Newcastle will be no different.
A versatile attacker appears to be on Newcastle’s radar as they look to push for Leandro Trossard, but another target has emerged.

Newcastle United are eyeing Nicolas Jackson
The Daily Mail report that Newcastle are following the progress of Villarreal attacker Nicolas Jackson.
It’s stated that Newcastle and Everton are both casting admiring glances towards Jackson.
This comes after claims that Unai Emery is already asking Aston Villa to go and sign his former Villarreal star.
Mundo Deportivo claimed on Monday that Emery is pushing for Jackson’s arrival having coached him in Spain.
Emery famously rejected the chance to become Newcastle boss this time a year ago but is now back in the Premier League with Villa.
Emery may want Jackson but he could receive competition from the club he turned down in the Magpies.
Jackson, 21, has bagged two goals and two assists in 12 La Liga appearances this season.
Primarily a striker under Emery, Jackson can also play on either flank and that versatility may well appeal to Newcastle.
Jackson is considered to have major potential and he has put himself in contention for the Senegal squad at the World Cup.
Newcastle may have Jackson on their radar in case a January deal for Trossard can’t be done and their interest continues the pattern of eyeing talented, young, versatile attackers.
Alexander Isak arrived over the summer but only after links to the likes of Hugo Ekitike, Benjamin Sesko, Joao Pedro and Sekou Mara.
Jackson fits the bill for Newcastle and the Magpies could strike a major blow to Emery’s Aston Villa plans by pushing for his signature.
