Newcastle United want Nick Pope and a deal is now thought to be close with Burnley boss Vincent Kompany accepting that he is leaving.
The Magpies have been linked with a number of goalkeepers this summer with Bernd Leno, Dean Henderson and Thomas Strakosha among the key names.
Martin Dubravka may need more competition moving forward and it looks like Newcastle will be offloading two goalkeepers.
Freddie Woodman is set for Preston North End whilst Karl Darlow is wanted by Middlesbrough.
Those moves would free up space for a new goalkeeper to come in and it looks like Pope will be that player.
Newcastle United want Nick Pope
The Telegraph report that Newcastle are now close to agreeing a deal to sign goalkeeper Pope from Burnley.
It’s stated that a deal will be worth around £8million and £10million and talks are now at an advanced stage.
This comes after The Northern Echo reported that Newcastle view Pope as a ‘better bet’ than Manchester United ace Henderson.
That report also adds that Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has accepted that Pope will be leaving.

Burnley have been relegated to the Championship and now need to raise funds, with Pope bringing in millions.
Pope also has aspirations of being in the England squad for the World Cup later this year and playing in the Championship would hamper those hopes.
Returning to the Premier League with Newcastle would be ideal for Pope, and you would imagine that he will start ahead of Dubravka moving forward.
Sky Sports reported last week that Newcastle were turning their attention towards Pope, who was branded ‘incredible’ by Jamie Redknapp.
A proven Premier League goalkeeper at 30, Pope is just what Eddie Howe wanted and he may now be given a chance to answer questions about his distribution away from Burnley.
