However, Newcastle simply cannot afford to lose Perez now, as his form was so strong towards the end of last campaign.
Initially there were doubts over Spaniard last season, as his performances early on were questionable.
Perez struggled to score and often looked on the periphery of games, but Rafael Benitez kept faith.
In the end, the creative forward ended up repaying his manager’s trust, and turned into one of Newcastle’s most influential players.
Perez managed to finish the campaign as the Magpies’ top scorer, after a fine run of scoring form.
And with the Spaniard ending the campaign in such good form, it appears he could be ready to explode into life from the start of next season.
As a result, Newcastle should not even consider offloading Perez this summer, as he could be too important for them next season to let go.
