Newcastle United want Nabil Fekir but the Real Betis playmaker seemingly isn’t agitating for a move during this summer’s transfer window.

Newcastle are going to be linked with so many players this summer; fans best be ready for a busy window.

Just how much PIF are willing to spend remains to be seen but Eddie Howe should be able to bring in a few quality additions.

January business was encouraging and fans will be hoping for players who can take Newcastle forward in this new project.

Newcastle United want Nabil Fekir

Reports from The Sunday Mirror claimed that Newcastle were back in for Fekir this summer.

It was suggested that Howe was lining up a £30million move for Fekir having been left frustrated in his chase of the playmaker in January.

Newcastle were thought to be keen in the winter but Fekir instead signed a new contract with Betis.

That meant there was no move to Newcastle but the Magpies seemingly haven’t given up hope just yet.

They may need to though as Estadio Deportivo now claim that Fekir is looking at the summer window with complete calmness.

Fekir is ‘very happy’ at Betis and doesn’t want to leave unless the club pushes him out or he receives a life-changing deal that he just can’t reject.

Newcastle may have the cash to make that happen but Fekir’s release clause is €100million (£85million).

That means Newcastle would likely have to pay an outlandish fee and huge wages to convince Fekir to sign.

The 28-year-old, formerly of Lyon, racked up 10 goals and 10 assists in 47 games for Betis this past season.

Primarily an attacking midfielder, Fekir has a wand of a left foot and has been heavily linked with a Premier League move before.

A 2018 move to Liverpool fell through and it looks like Newcastle won’t be signing the Frenchman either this summer.
