Newcastle United are said to be chasing a deal for Andros Townsend, and the sale of West Ham United’s Michail Antonio could help.

Newcastle are eager to bring Townsend to St. James’ Park for the second time in his career, but a deal is problematic right now.
Palace are demanding a significant fee for the winger, but they could come under pressure to sell, if Roy Hodgson gets his transfer wish.

Palace are said by the Daily Mirror (live blog, 12:44) to be planning to pay £15 million for West Ham United’s Michail Antonio, and if the wide-man does arrive that could push Townsend closer to the exit door.
West Ham are understood to be willing to listen to offers for Antonio, although it is not yet clear whether Palace’s will be deemed acceptable.

If Antonio does arrive at Palace then he will be in direct competition with Townsend for a first-team place, and that could making a move back to Newcastle look more appealing for the England international.
And Newcastle now have reason to hope that Palace can complete the capture of Antonio, as it could help them in the long-run.
