Newcastle United are looking to sign a new striker – and Lyon’s Moussa Dembele is now believed to be a top target for Eddie Howe.
Newcastle linked with Dembele swoop
Every day, it seems more and more players are being linked with moves to Newcastle.
With money from PIF on offer, agents are probably touting their places for moves to St James’ Park.
This week, it’s the turn of Lyon striker Dembele.
The Daily Mail claim that Newcastle are in the market for a new striker and have now picked out Dembele as a target.
Dembele, 25, has hit four goals in 10 Ligue 1 games this season and has history in the UK with Fulham and Celtic.
After a disappointing loan move with Atletico Madrid last season, Dembele could now join Newcastle to help Callum Wilson in attack.
Dembele has been compared to Drogba
Dembele became a star with Celtic, smashing 51 goals in 94 games for the Bhoys before leaving in 2018.

During his time there, Dembele earned a staggering comparison.
Then-Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers stated in 2016 that he felt Dembele had similar qualities to Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.
Rodgers worked at Chelsea when Drogba was there and felt Dembele had the potential to be just like the Ivorian.
Dembele hasn’t quite lived up to that billing yet, but he could be Newcastle’s own Drogba.
Strong with a turn of pace, Dembele still has untapped potential and could yet become a star if Newcastle bring him in.
