Emmanuel Riviere’s Newcastle nightmare could be coming to an end.

Newcastle United might have finally found a buyer for striker Emmanuel Riviere.

The former Monaco striker has had a terrible spell since signing for Newcastle three years ago, and recently spent time on loan at Osasuna.

French newspaper L’Equipe is reporting Metz are keen on signing Riviere.

No bid has yet been submitted, but L’Equipe state Riviere is on their list of targets.

Newcastle will be desperately hoping their interest materialises into an offer, so they can get Riviere off their wage bill.

He is under contract at Newcastle for another season, and has little prospect of featuring under Rafa Benitez in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old striker has scored just one league goal for Newcastle since signing under former boss Alan Pardew.

The Chronicle reported earlier this month that Riviere has been instructed by Newcastle to find a new club, along with midfielder Henri Saivet.

BBC Sport reported Newcastle spent around £5 million to sign Riviere.
