Newcastle United want Maximo Perrone and are allegedly making a first offer to try and sign the Velez Sarsfield midfielder in 2023.
The Magpies were always going to be very active in the transfer window after their takeover last year.
Newcastle haven’t been absolutely throwing the cash around though and they are also looking for young talents for the future.
The recent deal for Australian wonderkid Garang Kuol shows that and Newcastle may have another young signing in mind.

Newcastle United want Maximo Perrone
The latest name in the mix is that of Velez Sarsfield midfielder Maximo Perrone.
Velez670 have reported that Newcastle have now planning a first offer to sign Perrone in 2023.
That offer is expected to arrive this week with Newcastle seemingly making an initial move for the midfielder.
Perrone, 19, plays predominantly as a holding midfielder for Velez and has really caught the eye in Argentina.
Former Velez boss and Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze had very high hopes for Perrone having seen him emerge in the Velez youth ranks.
As quoted by Goal, Heinze branded Perrone as ‘spectacular’ whilst trying to bring him along gradually with Velez.
The teenager now has 33 first-team appearances for Velez, bagging three goals, two assists and a whopping 13 yellow cards.
Perrone also has also picked up one cap for the Argentina Under-20’s but is expected to become a senior star for his country one day.
Newcastle now seemingly want to set up a deal before anybody else can, given that there has been other Premier League interest.
Cesar Luis Merlo reported in August that Wolves were keen on Perrone whilst Manchester City have been interested too.
Newcastle are pushing themselves to the front of the queue though and will hope to get a deal teed up for Perrone soon.
