Newcastle United have already told goalkeeper Martin Dubravka that they are open to a summer transfer as they chase Manchester United’s Dean Henderson.
That’s according to 90Min, who claim that Newcastle aren’t going to stand in Dubravka’s way if he wants to leave the club this summer.
Newcastle seemingly have plans to move on and bring in a new first-choice goalkeeper for next season with Henderson the top choice.
That means Dubravka would be sat on the bench and Newcastle are ready to let him go and play elsewhere.
Dubravka, 33, is bound to attract plenty of interest but it feels like this decision has been a long time coming from Newcastle.
Newcastle signed the Slovakian stopper on loan from Sparta Prague in January 2018 before paying just £4.3million to sign him permanently.
Hailed as ‘excellent’ by Rafael Benitez, Dubravka made an enormous impact at Newcastle when he first arrived.
A solid goalkeeper for such a long period of time with Newcastle, Dubravka has started to slide a little in the last couple of seasons.
Dubravka played just 13 games last season and 17 games this season with injuries becoming something of a problem.

Dubravka also didn’t exactly cover himself in glory at Euro 2020, dropping a bizarre clanger against Spain, batting the ball into his own net.
The veteran stopper hasn’t quite been the same of late and Newcastle now seem ready to move on and bring in a new stopper.
The Manchester Evening News reported that Manchester United did want to sign Dubravka in January, proposing a loan swap involving him and Henderson.
That report claims Dubravka rejected the move as he seemingly didn’t want to be backup to David De Gea.
A move to United this summer therefore seems very unlikely, but Dubravka will probably attract plenty of interest if Newcastle make him available.
