Newcastle United’s hopes of signing Shakhtar Donetsk winger Manor Solomon could be dented after he was offered up to Sassuolo.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Solomon has now been offered to Sassuolo in a deal for wide man Jeremie Boga.
Shakhtar boss Roberto De Zerbi coached Boga at Sassuolo and now wants to reunite with him.
In order to tempt Sassuolo into a deal, Shakhtar are willing to send Newcastle target Solomon to Italy in exchange.
Atalanta are still favourites for Boga, but this swap offer has to be appealing to Sassuolo given Solomon’s potential.
Compared to Eden Hazard, Solomon looks like a star of the future and has impressed in Ukraine.
Newcastle linked with Solomon move
It’s probably easier to list the players who haven’t been linked with Newcastle since their takeover.

A link to Solomon emerged in his native Israel. Walla reported in October that Newcastle fancy signing Solomon.
The interest doesn’t appear to have advanced since then, and Shakhtar are now trying to swoop in.
If Newcastle still want Solomon, they will need to move quickly – and come up with an enticing offer amid claims he could head to Italy.
