Newcastle United are in contact with Manchester United attacking midfield Jesse Lingard’s camp, according to the I.

The report has claimed that Newcastle wanted to sign Lingard from Premier League rivals Manchester United in the January transfer window.

No move materialised.

Newcastle have reportedly remained in contact with Lingard’s camp and could make a move for the 29-year-old England international, who can also play as a winger, according to the report.

Lingard is out of contract at Manchester United at the end of the season.

Could Jesse Lingard join Newcastle United?

In our opinion, Lingard could leave Manchester United for Newcastle in the summer transfer window.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at the Red Devils at the end of the season, and it is clear that he will leave Old Trafford as a free agent.

Lingard has struggled for playing time throughout the season so far, and that is not going to change in the final weeks of the campaign.

The Manchester United no. 14 has made one start and 12 substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season.

Lingard has sores two goals in those games.

Newcastle are likely to be safe from relegation, and PIF would look to build the club from next season on.

Lingard is at the top of his game now, and he could be tempted to move to St. James’ Park and be part of a special project.
