Newcastle United transfer target Boubacar Kamara will leave Marseille on a free in the summer of 2022, according to The Athletic.
The Athletic are reporting this morning that Kamara, who is wanted by Newcastle United and Manchester United, has decided to leave Marseille when his current contract runs out at the end of the season.
The £46,000-a-week defensive midfielder (Salary Sport) turned down a move to Newcastle in the summer of 2022.
But the Magpies are still interested in Kamara.
Good and bad news for Newcastle regarding Boubacar Kamara
Kamara is 22 and is a very promising young defensive midfielder.
In our opinion, Newcastle would be a better team with Kamara in it.
Especially if the Magpies are able to secure his services on a free transfer.
However, there are two problems.

Firstly, Manchester United are interested in signing the French youngster.
Now, between Newcastle United and Manchester United, a player is more likely to opt for the latter.
Then there is the small matter of Newcastle getting relegated.
If Eddie Howe’s side go down from the Premier League, then it is unlikely that they will be able to attract a player like Kamara.
