Newcastle United have been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far.
The Magpies will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.
Benitez’s side have been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far. Newcastle have secured the services of defender Florian Lejeune, forward Jacob Murphy and right-back Javier Manquillo, and have also signed midfielder Christian Atsu on a permanent contract.
Newcastle manager Benitez has suggested that he plans to sign a striker before the end of the summer transfer window.

“We are trying to change some players,” Benitez told The Chronicle when asked about bringing in a new striker. “We have to wait to see the right offers and then after we will see if we can add some players.
“I think we need some more players. I wouldn’t say how many, but it also depends on the market. Mike convinced me he would give us the last penny of the money available.
“We are not asking for more, we are asking for the money we can use. We can generate some more money. Hopefully we can do that.”

Newcastle have three main out-and-out strikers on their books at the moment – Dwight Gayle, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Emmanuel Riviere.
None of the aforementioned strikers has been particularly great in the Premier League, and they could struggle to score 15 to 20 goals in the Premier League next season.
It would make sense for Newcastle to sign a striker in the summer transfer window, but Benitez needs to make sure that he gets someone who is going to find the net regularly in the Premier League next season.
