Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have made a bid for Leeds United winger and Chelsea summer transfer target Raphinha, according to Gerard Romero.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported on Twitch and on Twitter that Newcastle made an offer to Leeds for Brazil international winger Raphinha on June 30.
Romero has added that Barcelona have agreed a deal with Leeds over Raphinha and will pay the transfer fee in three instalments.
90min have reported that Chelsea also have an agreement in place with Leeds over the transfer of 25-year-old, but the winger prefers a move to Barcelona.

The Northern Echo reported earlier this week that Newcastle had held talks with Leeds over Raphinha, described as “unbelievable” by his Elland Road teammate Kevin Phillips on the club’s YouTube channel in May 2022.
Newcastle and Chelsea to miss out on Raphinha
In our view, Newcastle United and Chelsea are likely to miss out on the signing of Raphinha from Leeds United.
Barcelona have an agreement in place with Leeds, and the winger himself wants to move to Camp Nou.
So, in our opinion, there is nothing much that Newcastle and Chelsea can do at this point.
Now, of course, we know that there are twists and turns when the transfer window is open, and you never know what could happen if Chelsea decide to make an offer more than £60 million.
However, we think that it is unlikely.
