Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is thought to be unconvinced by Liverpool striker Divock Origi despite him being discussed as a possible signing.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Howe has reservations about a move to sign Origi.
Newcastle absolutely need to sign a striker after Callum Wilson’s injury.
The Magpies have seemingly discussed making a move for Origi, but boss Howe doesn’t seem entirely sold on the move.
Origi, 26, has only played three times in the Premier League this season, all as a substitute. Yet in just 38 minutes of action, Origi has scored twice.
Add in three more goals and two assists in seven games across other competitions, and Origi has made an impact this term.
The Belgian has been with Liverpool for almost eight years now, but has spent most of his time as a substitute.
A move to Newcastle would at least give Origi a chance to play regularly, but Howe just doesn’t appear to be that keen.

Origin may not even be available. The Liverpool Echo claim that Liverpool have no intention of selling Origi this month.
Jurgen Klopp needs Origi as cover, especially with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane away at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Add that to Howe’s apparent scepticism, and we aren’t expecting Origi to be in a Newcastle shirt any time soon.
