Newcastle United should make a move for Sunderland forward Joel Asoro now, if they really want him.

Newcastle United should step up their bid for Sunderland’s Joel Asoro, following Stewart Donald’s confirmation that the youngster wants to leave.
He said: “Joel Asoro, according to his agent, doesn’t want to stay and doesn’t like the club because of something that’s happened and I need to get to the bottom of that.”

Newcastle have been one of the teams to have been linked with Asoro in the Daily Mail, and if they want him they should strike now.
Asoro’s head appears to have been turned by the reported interest, and Newcastle could benefit from moving quickly to snap him up.
Asoro impressed in Sunderland’s first-team last season, despite their relegation.

The youngster showed signs of quality in a pressurised environment, and he seemingly caught Newcastle’s eye.
Of course, Sunderland are not going to want to do business with Newcastle, but with Asoro reportedly wanting to leave, it may be that they are left with no choice but to reluctantly accept a bid from their arch rivals.
