Lille do not want to sell Sven Botman to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in the January transfer window, according to 90min.

The report has claimed that Newcastle have made a second bid to Lille for central defender Botman.

However, according to the report, Lille, who won the Ligue 1 title last season, are still not keen on selling the 21-year-old Dutch defender in the January transfer window.

Could Sven Botman to Newcastle happen?

In our view, there is a chance that Newcastle could sign Botman in the January transfer window.

Now, of course, it is not going to be easy, but the Magpies do have enough time on their hands to get a deal done.

And they have money.

As we all know, money talks.

There is speculation that a transfer fee of £30 million could get Newcastle Botman.

Yes, Lille are the defending French champions and will face Chelsea in the Champions League last-16, but Newcastle could offer the defender a lot in salary.

Then there is also the Newcastle project.

Botman is only 21, and he could be a big figure for Newcastle in the coming years, as they aim to establish themselves among the elite clubs in Europe.

That could be convincing to Botman.
