Newcastle United produced a great fightback to beat Everton 3-1 on Tuesday night – but Ryan Taylor joked about one issue he found in the game.
Jamaal Lascelles put through his own net before making amends, with his header crashing off the bar and hitting Mason Holgate, finding its way in.
Ryan Fraser found the goal to put Newcastle ahead before Kieran Trippier wrapped up with a pinpoint free-kick past Jordan Pickford.
Trippier’s goal and the final whistle sparked wild scenes at St James’ Park, with fans now truly believing that Newcastle can stay up.
Newcastle need to use this result as momentum in the battle against the drop, and it doesn’t hurt to have a player like Trippier in the ranks.
Trippier has an outrageous amount of quality, with his set pieces causing mayhem even before his goal.
It looks like Trippier is the next set-piece specialist right back at Newcastle, following on from Ryan Taylor in years gone by.
Taylor was a Newcastle fan favourite despite his noted injury problems, notably scoring a beauty of a free kick to beat Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in 2011.

Taylor left Newcastle in 2015 but remains a popular figure to his day just for that one memorable goal.
On Tuesday, Newcastle fans were signing ‘Kieran Trippier over the wall’, repurposing the same song they used to sing for Taylor.
Taylor took to Twitter to praise Trippier for his outstanding goal, but joked that the new signing needs to get his own song.
If Trippier helps keep Newcastle up, Taylor’s song may instead be known as Trippier’s song instead.
