Newcastle United want Azzedine Ounahi and Roma boss Jose Mourinho has hailed the Angers midfielder as ‘absolutely incredible’.
Mourinho watched on as Morocco were beaten 2-0 by France in the World Cup semi-finals on Wednesday night.
Morocco were outstanding throughout and just couldn’t find a goal to really make France worry.
Walid Regragui’s incredible World Cup journey is over but Morocco and their star players have picked up a host of new fans.
One of them is Roma boss Mourinho, who filmed a couple of videos praising Morocco on Wednesday.
As quoted by Goal, Mourinho hailed the likes of Yassine Bounou and Sofyan Amrabat for their great displays in Qatar.
Yet the biggest praise was reserved for midfielder Ounahi with Mourinho praising the Newcastle United target as ‘absolutely incredible’.

Mourinho praise for Ounahi comes as Newcastle eye him up
Mourinho is absolutely right – Ounahi has been exceptional at the World Cup.
It’s not often these days that somebody shines at the World Cup as a complete unknown but few can really claim to have known about Ounahi a month ago.
Yet the Angers midfielder has been simply superb in Qatar, procuring outstanding midfield displays throughout the competition.
Ounahi has been everywhere in the Morocco engine room and his dribbling ability has been catching real attention.
90Min already claim that Newcastle United and West Ham United fancy signing Ounahi moving forward.
Angers are surely rubbing their hands at the prospect of selling Ounahi now with the midfielder worth millions and millions.
Seeing Ounahi’s all-action style in the famous black and white shirt would be incredibly exciting and give Eddie Howe another talented midfielder alongside Bruno Guimaraes.
Yet if Mourinho has anything to say about it, maybe Roma will end up joining Newcastle in the race for his signature.
