Newcastle United also want Chelsea winger Charly Musonda, and landing the Belgian may be easier.

Newcastle United may be better off scraping a move for Kenedy to ensure that they land Charly Musonda.
The Magpies also want Kenedy from Chelsea, but they are only allowed to take one player from a Premier League club on loan.

Newcastle agreed a deal in principle for Kenedy right at the start of the transfer window, but Chelsea are loathed to allow the Brazilian to leave currently.
Chelsea want to sign added cover, before sanctioning any deal to allow Kenedy to depart.
And Newcastle may now need to make a decision over whether to wait for Kenedy.

If Newcastle pass up the opportunity to sign Musonda, in the hope of landing Kenedy at a later date, they could risk missing out on both of the pair, if Chelsea do not do business.
And it may be that Newcastle are simply better off going after Musonda now, as Chelsea are willing to loan the winger out straight away.
