Newcastle United fans are excited about Garang Kuol and Dwight Yorke is now backing the winger for a big impact at the World Cup.
Few are really expecting Australia to make much of an impact at the World Cup.
France, Tunisia and Denmark represents a very tricky group for Australia and one that few are backing them to emerge from in the coming weeks.
This tournament may well end in a group stage exit for Australia but there will be real hype surrounding teenager Kuol.

Newcastle talent Kuol backed to shine
Kuol has absolutely burst onto the scene in Australia.
The Egypt-born talent found a home in Australia and has now become a star Down Under.
Kuol, 18, has already bagged six goals and three assists in 14 first-team games for Central Coast Mariners.
Quick, tricky and skilful down the flanks, Kuol has been turning heads in Australia and already has his big move for 2023 lined up.
Newcastle United have already pounced to secure Kuol’s signature and he will officially join in January.
Work permit issues mean Kuol is likely to head out on loan immediately but Newcastle can be very excited about his future.
Kuol has been so good for Central Coast Mariners that he has been called up for the World Cup.
Australia may unleash Kuol from the bench in the hope that he can cause some mayhem against tired defences.
Newcastle fans will be watching him very closely and Kuol has now earned praise from a former Premier League hero.
Ex-Aston Villa, Manchester United and Sunderland ace Dwight Yorke – the current manager of A-League side Macarthur FC – has told The Sunday Mirror (20/11, p73) that he thinks Kuol has ‘got the X factor’ in his game.
Yorke added that Kuol is a ‘special talent’ and can’t wait to see him at the World Cup, even if he is only coming off the bench in Qatar.
“This young guy has definitely got the X factor,” said Yorke. “HIs rise has been amazing in such a short time and, despite his young age, I’m not surprised he is at the World Cup.”
“I’m not certain that he will start games but on the bench he has that special talent to be able to change games. I’m excited about seeing him,” he added.
