Haris Vuckic celebrates his only Newcastle goal
Newcastle United forward Haris Vuckic played in FC Twente’s friendly defeat against Lokeren on Wednesday.
Vuckic lasted the whole game in Belgium, in what was described on the Dutch side’s official website as an ‘internship’.
The Slovenian moved to St James’ Park in January 2009 from Domzale, and made his debut for the Magpies in August that year – making him the club’s longest-serving current player after Tim Krul.
But with his contract set to expire in little over three months’ time, it appears that Vuckic may be on his way out of Tyneside, and could follow Krul – who is on loan to AZ Alkmaar – to the Netherlands.
The 24-year-old has made only 19 appearances for Newcastle, scoring once, and spent time on loan to five different clubs.

His only senior first team football this season came during a six-month spell at League One side Bradford City.
Another of Newcastle’s longest-serving players, Sammy Ameobi, is also out of contract at St James’ Park this summer.
