Newcastle United are on the look out for strikers, and Southampton’s Charlie austin could be available.
Newcastle United fans have suggested moving for Charlie Austin at Southampton.
Austin appears to be heading towards the exit door at Southampton after a fall out with Ralph Hassenhuttl, as reported in the Sun, and Newcastle supporters think that he could be a good addition.
The Magpies are likely to need two new strikers this summer.
Newcastle are already close to wrapping up a deal for Joelinton (Northern Echo), but the St. James’ Park crowd would be behind bringing Austin to Tyneside too.
Austin has previously been a goalscorer at Premier League level, even though he has fallen out of favour at Southampton.
Austin struggled last season and only managed two goals in the league all campaign.
However, the 30-year-old shouldn’t be too costly to purchase, and could be a strong finisher for Newcastle, if he was provided with enough chances.
