Should Newcastle United try to sign Patrice Evra?

Patrice Evra is one of the most decorated footballers in the world and has been a legend of the game.
Now 36, the France international was one of the best left-backs in the world when he was at Manchester United.
Evra was a key figure for United during his time at Old Trafford, winning the Premier League five times and the Champions League once.
Then in Italy, the Frenchman helped Juventus to Scudetti in 2015 and 2016, as well as to successive Coppa Italia success.

The 36-year-old, though, is now without a club. As reported by BBC Sport, the France international has left Marseille by mutual consent and been banned from Uefa competition for the rest of the season for kicking one of his own fans.
Evra has been punished for aiming a kick at a fan next to the pitch before the Europa League game against Vitoria Guimaraes earlier this month, as reported by BBC Sport.
Newcastle United fans, though, seem to be open to the idea of having Evra playing for Rafael Benitez’s side and want the club to sign the left-back.
