Newcastle United fans seemingly wouldn’t say no to Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge.

Newcastle United fans on Twitter have questioned why Rafael Benitez isn’t going for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.
The 28-year-old is heavily linked with a move away from Anfield this month and a couple of Spanish and Italian sides are rumoured to be interested.
Back in December, bookmakers Bet Victor had priced Newcastle as 3/1 favourites to sign the England international, though Benitez’s side are now 25/1 outsiders to get a deal done this month.

The Magpies’ Premier League rivals Southampton were linked with a move by The Sun this week, only for the Saints to scrap their interest after being quoted £50 million, which is way above his £20 million valuation according to Transfermarkt.
Nevertheless, there are rumours floating around that Newcastle are keen on signing an unnamed £20 million-rated striker, and some fans of the North-East club are hoping it’s Sturridge.

Benitez completed a deal for Kenedy on Tuesday and even if their next signing isn’t Sturridge, which seems likely, it has to be a striker.
Signing a left-back is fair enough but it could all be for nothing if Newcastle are relegated which, again, seems likely at the moment.
United are only a point above the danger zone and they need a prolific marksman to come in and stave off the threat of relegation.
